As Mark said on Solar Chat try 2x2 binning and capping it down with the 178.
Leave the gamma off for the time being.
Lowish gain 1/3 usually works with my set up.
Just noticed you was using an MC.
Mono cameras work best for solar.
With the 414 they are indeed NR's but it does look better

Getting there slowly.
20 x 10 secs Canon 6D Samyang 14mm @ f5.on fixed tripod
Taken about 5 mins away from home over the fields .I did crop it a lot to remove the LP from the streetlamps.

I managed to open them in virtual dub and the first 2 are way over exposed.
Use the histogram function in Flycapture or Sharpcap.
