What is it you want printed ? size & material ??
-
No, USB cables come in different 'varieties' e.g. USB 2/3 and are usually limited to 5v etc., and power tanks usually come with vehicle cigarette lighter plugs/sockets that connect to 12 batteries.
I don't know the Mead ETX-70, but your picture appears to show that the holder has at least 4, 1.5v batteries, if using standard AA 1.5v batteries ?? which, when connected in series, would give you 6v, so you need to look for something that will give you that voltage.

Without measuring, the connector looks to be a standard PP3, and are easily available e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401780792142?epid=16046178828 If you didn't want to take things apart, you could simple cut off the old connector & join red to red & black to black.
As for the battery holder, you may be able to 'recover' it, by lightly scrubbing with a wire brush....
and obviously replace the batteries !!
-
ignore the SW scale, draw a thin line across both parts using a straight edge & then see how things behave ....
-
Was the damage all on the 'external' part of the connector pair, but also on mount side ? If so, was there any damage to the internal wiring, i.e. from the connector to the motherboard ? have you checked the internal wiring for any damage/disconnections ?
Note: replacement plugs & sockets, with & without, fixing hardware are readily available from multiple sources e.g. RS Components, Farnell etc....

check that the grease temperature range covers what you think is required, i.e. it is still guaranteed to work @ -20 *C ..... I have some that do, but others that not guaranteed to work at lower temps.

I sincerely hope that they not a member of this community !!

Who is the seller, and what guarantees are offered ??? if it was FLO, I would be amazed that you received it, in that state !!

If you, or you know someone local, who has 3D printer, you could probably knock one up quite quickly, and yes it is possible to print fine threads etc.
-
When you connect the mount to your PC, what port does it show up as, under device manager ? and are you selecting the correct port speed ?

I use a gigabit ethernet cable connection, from my household network, to my external computers (Windows & Linux), and control them using remote desktop / xrdp with no issues.... I tried WiFi, but like you, I found it unreliable, so reverted back to wired connections.

Mine are 2.5 Metres down to a USB 2/3 hub & another 2.5 Metres (USB3) to the computer.

How do you focus the image ??
-
... and a different computer ??

Personally, I wouldn't bother with a "sleeve", instead, after carefully measuring the tooth spacing & depth, I'd just source the required belt and pulleys from https://www.beltingonline.com/ .... Its what I have done to connect a stepper motor to a Baader Steeltrack focuser

Under devices if you right click on the computer name & select "Show Hidden Devices", then under Ports you will see the ports that the system has previously used.... right clicking & deleting each of the hidden ports, then when re-connecting the USB to serial device, a lower port number will be applied....

can you connect the hard drive from the old computer to your new one ?? if so it may be possible to copy over the missing dll, register it, then see if it works ....

I'd recommend looking out for a 600D, which I quite happily use with BYEos .....
-
Look for a "shim washer" stainless steel, teflon, nylon etc. (I personally use stainless) measuring the inside diameter and outside diameter... standard ones can be found as thin as 0.1 mm ...

All the bearings I ordered, appeared on my doorstep this morning (Sunday ??), so I'll be doing the mod later this week....

Have you seen this

First off, you should not need to disable any firewalls etc. especially to get remote access, therefore there are some configuration changes that need to be made to allow appropriate access...
As for get at old data, you would need to but something like this external disk drive adapter (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363196049057) and torx sets e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124914309681 are getting more useful, and as long as you've not disabled the in-built anti-virus tools etc. then there should be no issues reading/copying data from the old drive !!
-
What died on the laptop ?? I know you say that you are not a 'computer person', but if possible remove the old disk drive and using a suitable interface, copy its contents to the new computer, especially all the user settings, data etc. then at least you'll then have an "aid memoir" of what needs to be re-installed on the new computer.

Thank you !! I was looking to do something similar, but I'm also thinking about updating the drives from gears to belt....

How much control do you have over your local network, i.e. DHCP/assigned ip's/local DNS servers etc. ?? if you are willing to take more control, then you can overcome a lot of the garbage that the big boys want to push at you ....
One of the simplest methods, just involves modifying a plain text file that is found on all computers/network attached devices, and that is the hosts file.
Go search "hosts file ad blocking", which will return a number of results e.g. https://nordvpn.com/blog/use-hosts-file-block-ads-malware/ https://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm etc. which explain how to update your local hosts files, but note that Microsoft et al will try & put you off doing by trying to say that it's a virus, which it isn't ....
