  1. After a 3 month wait, my Prinz 660 has finally returned......now a Skylight 660. Not sure why the last pic is sideways? Anyway, the finish is superb, soooo shiny! The focuser is a million times better than the original. The scope itself has been shortened in order for my Lunt wedge to come to focus with the Zeiss CZJs (it didn't before). The tube has been tidied up internally - matt black paint, castings smoothed etc. A dovetail has been attached directly to the tube so I don't need rings. My experience with Richard from Skylight Telescopes was excellent, very good communication throughout and he even delivered the scope personally to my house last night. What can I say other than that I'm very happy with the result. Fully expect the cloud cover to be extended until the year 3000 but at least I can look at my scope and still be happy!

  6. A very good looking scope Dave, the Tal tripod suits it as well.

  8. That's quite a strong colour cast through the Tak. Was it a TeleVue ep by any chance?
  9. Lovely collection, especially the telementor. Good point about insurance. Did your insurance company ask for details in addition to normal contents insurance or is this something you did off your own back?
  10. Docters history is intertwined with Zeiss, but there seems to be only one eyepiece made by them unless anyone knows otherwise. I've heard nothing but praise from experienced observers but they do have a hefty price tag.

  14. After an eyepiece 'purge and purchase', my little Olympus case has some new occupants. There's even room for a couple of my little Zeiss orthos, but they're actually gonna live in a wooden box that I'm in the process of attempting to make look nice. And that's all I actually need......unless I can pick up some more Zeiss's or maybe some nice Brandons, or what about some Pentax SMC's, or.......!

  17. That's a big beastie Derek, even the Tele Vue finder is bigger than my new aquisition! Look carefully or you won't even see it - it's a Borg Mini 60 achro, bought for when I fancy a night time bike ride to my local dark site. It works surprisingly well for such a little thing! It came with a Baader Amici prism and click lock clamp, mmmmmm nice!
  18. Yes, there is but it might make the optical path too long to use with a diagonal (depending on the diagonal), so measure first! My Lunt wedge doesn't come to focus in the Prinz for this very reason.
