      nice one!!! so are you going to be guiding with your nice new shiny QHY5L-ii :) have a crack at M51, its a great starter object and easy to find as its right next to the big dipper :D

      No. no guiding or computer as I'm traveling light. So it will just be experimental time, with iso and exposure times. M51 is going to be my first target.

      exciting! i remember my 1st galaxy M51 when it magically appeared on my camera screen, i was gob smacked! lol with good polar alignment you should be able to get away with 30-60sec subs, and with that beast of a light bucket the QHY5L-ii you should really be in for a treat if your going to a dark site! cant wait to see your images tomorrow :) good luck
