Wow a lot of very useful info. Seems to generate a lot of magification, and that isnt always a good thing. I really want to see the sun in binoviewers, and currently 15mm EP gives me a beautiful view.
@Stu The TS ones are £170+, and the WOs are £220 without lens. I've never heard of TS, but £50 saved would be very welcome.

I have over the past week bought some eyepieces to make myself a few pairs.
I now have the following pairs of eyepeices:
Meade Super Plossl 26mm
Meade Super Plossl 15mm
Meade Super Plossl 6.4mm
I should have another pair of 12.4mm EPs but I seem to have lost an eyepiece over the past few years since my gear was stored away. I think what I have should be sufficient though?
I want to use this binoviewer with the folliowing scopes:
SW 250px
Lunt 60mm
SW ED80
There are several sets available for under £300, some of which come with barlows and EPs. Just interested to hear views and recommendations on the SW, WO, Baader, TS binoviewers.
Many thanks
Adam.

I put this together with a few bits and pieces. I thought it would have been good for holiday but it weighs a stone (give it take an ounce) without camera so don't think so!

I received these items today, in super quick time, perfectly wrapped. Larger than they look on the photos, really nice quality feel to everything. Thanks Jesper.

This arrived yesterday, dmk21, which I tried out last night. Nice images of Jupiter and the moon, and it works as a guidecam too. Cheers @Helen

Doing things backwards, yesterday's winner is the final image of Jupiter from tooth_dr.Very tough to get good iPhone images of Jupiter, but this is a great one!
Wow! I appreciate this very much! Thanks Stu.

Thanks guys. I also used PS express on my phone to process the carefully acquired data. I'd never heard of it but again thanks to this forum I've learnt more new stuff today.

My first year too, got a Lunt ls50tha ds in march and a white light filter for my st80.
Amazing shots. I would aspire to get images like that in the future.

AFAIK the baader MPCC is optomised for F4.5, but works from F4.0-6.0. I've it on my F4.7 scope and it works effectively. I need to alter spacing by 1-2mm to get optimal results, but screwed directly on to the T-ring/adpater and placed in the focuser it works verywell

I understood that the 'x' means pyrex glass? I've a 250px, and it's got pyrex glass mirror, whereas the 200p, for example, is not pyrex. I inferred from this that the x means pyrex!

I'd be interested for sure cost depending. One more thing to control without touching the scope.

Is this going to be available as a completed product or plans? This is similar to the FCUSB device?

Congrats on the purchase. You should have put a pic of yourself beside the scope to give some scale

O well, problem solved, ive just ordered the SkyWatcher 250p ds from FLO:D
Ive just come across a user on her called Neil Phillips who does a lot of Planetary imaging using a 10 Orion Newtonian scope all i can say is, check out his images on SGL and here on his website!
Im not saying the Skywatcher 250 wil give as good images but at least i can see the potential and Neil uses his scope on a EQ6 mount so he obviously isnt having difficulties using it.
Thanks for the advice everyone, i'll let you know how i get on with it and how easy or hard it is to use on the mount.
Neils Website
Look forward to seeing some images from this scope too. I think Neil's scope is a longer focal length F6.3, whereas yours (and mine) are F4.8, but it still should be good. This was my first or second attempt at imaging Mars with the 250px, using a toucam.

This is my setup - EQ6 and 250px (nonDS). Initially I was for giving up. Too big and awkward, difficult to rotate in rings without moving mount and wrecking the goto alignment. Imaging wise as with all Newts, suffers from coma, so factor in the cost of a MPCC at £130 ish. Great scope the 250px is and I've taken some lovely images with it using a DSLR. Oh and mines permanently mounted, wouldn't have considered it without a pier.
The 200p on the other hand is 100 times more manageable. I lift my Dad's out to the garden with LXD-75 mount, weights and all through the patio doors, all in one piece.
Which 'budget' binoviewers?
