  1. Thats what I thought but lets some of us confirm that next good nite.
  2. I will closly check next time but I thought that the LP filter turned on / off depending on the target you select or you can manually select its operation as well ? I just shoot everything, I note it is green many times but I don't pay a lot of attention and haven't had a bad shot yet. I will make it a point to try every possiblity next time out.
  3. With faint galaxies like M33, M101 you have to let it shoot, with the filters for 10-13 min and the skies don't have to be real great seeing / transparency wise. I am in a Bortle 4-5 zone and on a bad nite B6. In most cases, in those zones, filters are a must have.
  4. You should have, it would have taken about 10 sec.
  5. Just pick them out of Sky Safari or similar.
  6. I have started to use Lightroom to do editing instead of the two that I have always used, it is several levels higher in capabilities, as can be seen. I really like it ! PS: The only PITA is that while you are working away on some, but not all, photos they flash their Premium version on the screen, they want you to rent it for a yearly rate.
  7. Got it ! When I hit edit I then single tap not double tap the photo, it highlites in blue, that I want to delete and the keyboard stays up and then I just delete it. Thanx !
  8. As I mention I don't have access to a keyboard to type anything while highliting the image, the keyboard is on screen and is not visible at that point. I would have to have a keyboard accessory connected to do what you say, lol !
  9. It doesn't work that way with an ipad air, I can get it to change color but there is no key board at that point, I don't use an external keyboard therefore no on screen delete key.
  10. I reduced the size of the photos to what I want but the original larger sized photos are still there also, how do I now delete them ?
  11. I will try that, can I still do it with those last two from my last post ?
  12. IC1805, IC1396 using a basic editing program, took about 5 min. each. Some reproduction of photos on this site is bad, can you reduce the size on here for a better overall reproduction ? These really aren't worth showing save to bring attention to the quality.
  13. The new tripod for my SS, that I showed a few posts ago, raised it to 38" (90mm) to the bottom of the SS from 16" (40mm), its stable as rock and it is easier bending over to access it for whatever reason. Some on another forum thought it would be top heavy in a wind but it would have to be tornado force, lol ! You just have to make sure you keep your da* feet away from the legs, lol !
  14. He would start out at a loss for words, lol !
  15. Thanx ! Just pointing out to eager fellow astronomers its capabilities, its instant views which we have all been told over many prior months. Its part of our duties to bring this out to waiting enthusiasts who are kind of sitting on the fence wondering if whether spending about $500 is worth it ! In my mind from what I can see, right now, it is a piece of gear for everyone who enjoys their night sky overhead, bar none !
  16. IC 1318 last night in my driveway about 10:30 with dim LED streetlights nearby and the neighbors kitchen lite dimly turned on and rain moving in. And lightly touched up with my ipads photo editor.
  17. The nice thing is you will see dso's more like the astronomy books rather than faint objects through a scope. And I have some pretty capable scopes. They are a great, low cost, compliment to our scopes !
  18. Don't call it laziness, its just another direction to travel, a change of pace in this great hobby !
  19. I won't get into that type of back and forth, a heated discussion maybe (lol), try them both and you decide for your self, its the best way, the only way ! You will love the SS !
  20. The PacMan raw and then enhanced with my ipad.
  21. M27 for 2min raw and then I doctored it with my ipad basic editing program. It was a quick edit, I have done better, lol !(
  22. Here is a 13 min. raw from last nite, Bortle 5-6, not very good skies, usually they are Bortle 4 and less warm / humid.
  23. My first try at the sun between big, puffy clouds and +80° F temps which are pretty rare for this time of year in Northern Ontario. The second is a raw photo.
  24. My SS all loaded and ready to fire !
