  1. I got the last one off ebay what I was looking for was what they are made of these say tungsten so thought they would be better.
  2. They were going to make the bar as well but I thought it was a bit pricey.
  3. That's very kind of you I'm in no rush I will get the £16 set and have a go.
  4. I know of a engineers I went there have a bolt made for my tripod to fit to my mount they wanted £120 so I'm not sure how much they would charge. This is why I want to do it myself.
  5. Yes I have a. 75 and the 1 the 0.75 are too fine for the bolt too close together. When I buy the set I can just put the one I started it off with so should fit.
  6. Just been looking at that as £34 you have to have delivered. If that one is decent one ish I will get that.
  7. It's a M6 just checked. There is a a bit of thread left it's just worn down not gripping properly
  8. Yes I run it backwards and forwards while using oil I have oil for my hair trimmers and 3in1 but found the hair trimmer oil better. It's the handle it's rubbish just been looking at a set in Toolstation £34 think I will send for that. https://www.toolstation.com/draper-combination-tap-and-die-set-metric-and-bsp-in-eva-foam-insert-tray/p98880
  9. No just been looking if I can get one separately.
  10. Pretty sure it's M6 the M6x1 goes in a couple of threads but like I said starts to turn in the holder the more pressure I put on it.
  11. I have got a tap and die set but it's a cheap one, I have got a few taps that I sent for and have used one of these and got a couple of turns but could not turn it any more it was just slipping in the handle. 😥
  12. Cheers both of you I will give it a go and see how I get on.
  13. Thanks Dave can I use a hand drill to tap it once drilled or is that a no no. Regards Paul
  14. Can anyone suggest a fix this please, the hole arrowed should be threaded but they have worn away. I have tried rethreading it and got a couple of turns enough to get a bolt holding it but want to fix it properly. I have read I can use a helicoil having never used these I'm unsure whether to or not. Can I use a hand drill and tap to thread it or is that a no no. Thank you Paul
  15. Great report I too have not been out since April, having just broke my little toe I dont think I will be out for a couple more weeks until that settles down. It is really good to read other peoples reports when you cannot get out yourself.
  16. Brilliant report loved the read glad you have sorted a really nice portable kit out.
  17. Yes that looks good just a minor tweak to the primary and it should be spot on. I would check it each time you take it out this can easily be accomplished with a Cheshire and a red light point the red light at the shiny surface of the Cheshire and look through the hole. As you have adjusted the secondary that should not need any adjustment again unless you bang or drop the ota all that will be needed is a tweak to the primary. Clear Skies Paul
  18. I use a Eq6 tripod with adapter plate with a EQ5 head and it is rock solid even with a 5" refractor on.
  19. My mate said he found a place think it's near Wigan but he said it was really dark and it was in a quiet car park I will check it out and let you know. Paul
  20. A warm welcome to SGL, I'm not to far away from you I'm searching for a place within an hour drive. Paul
