Hi, I had a similar issue with the same arrangement, the bolt is just a standard M10 or M12, the issue I found is a standard EQ5 wont fit, I spoke with RVO but they said it only fits HEQ5,
So I had to take a dremel to the inside face to allow the EQ5 to fit, then you need a M12 female to M10 male thread adaptor so the tripod plate will screw into the EQ5.
If you don't have the tripod spreader you can just use a standard M10 bolt I think.
But it can be done!
Hi I have checked a EQ6 Tripod looks like this on top I suspect yours did Where as the one I have been sent is this with no centre bolt or north peg. Nothing matches up so I am sending it back if the fella will accept a return and put a wanted add on for a proper EQ6 tripod but thank you ever so much this will be handy when I do get the EQ6 mount.
-
No that never came with it and more research it is a Celestron AVX mount has not come with the north peg either, I have messaged the fella I need send it back.
Thanks everyone.

I bought a EQ6 Tripod (supposedly) and bought this so my EQ5 would fit.
https://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/geoptik-heq5-tripod-adaptor-for-eq6-2-tripods.html
This is the tripod can someone clarify if it is and if so how to fit the adaptor please.
The holes in the top are too small for the bolts that have come with the adaptor thanks.

If I had more knowledge of the different accessories and knowing which parts fit which scopes I would go for this. As I am classed as disabled I do try to get get around, I have loads of time on my hands.

does sound that way unless you buy a cigar to EQ5 cable but connecting to the screw posts would be more reliable
Just looked at one in FLO the cigar to EQ5 cable max is 4amp so definitely need the ring ones.

the bench one looks to have a cigar socket outlet, do you have a car lead for the mount?
I guess you could then use an octopus type connector to that to give multiple plug outputs but watch that you cover the unused ones as some aren't too well short protected as the centre electrode can be a little exposed.

I have one of those thats how I power my dew strips, no I dont have a car lead for the mount, looks like I would need a lead making up to go to the positive and negative into a 5.5 x 2.1 plug.

I have just sent for one of these 10a one`s as my power supply broke somehow, anyway this is good as I can run my dew strips off it they have the same connectors.
Now I have been told to get a regulated bench power supply such as this but how would I connect to my mount EQ5 and to my dew strips any help appreciated

A collimating eyepiece as you say is really for checking your mirrors are aligned in your reflector scope. 30 euros is not a bad price.
Dont get a 3x Barlow have too much power if you are dead set on one get a 2x one but in my opinion another eyepiece or two would be better say a 15mm and 30/32 mm so you will have a good low power eyepiece to scan the sky and the 15mm is a good medium eyepiece.

I started off with Binoculars for 20 years every time I wanted to get a scope something would break in the house.
First Scope was a Skywatcher 150p on a EQ3-2 mount
A C4r on a EQ3-2
A Skywatcher 200p on a EQ5 goto mount
Tal 100rs
Meade 127mm achromatic

How much did you pay for it? With the EQ5 price being quite low it seems like almost any kind of repair would not really be worthy in my opinion. But all depends on the price.
My friend engineered it for free Rother Valley charged £70 but it has been well worth it it's very accurate now.
-
My EQ5 has been engineered after a calamity with bendy bolts sent it to Rother Valley for overall now it just hums when slewing.

I tried a few nights ago with my Tal did not get it seeing was awful at high mag.

I will definitely try them I have only done a few in Draco I must have a session there. Thanks for posting I will copy these to incorporate into a list of my own. Great sketches I can compare now when I do my own.

I would like to get peoples opinion before the lock down we had a informal Star Party at Shallow Grange where PSP happened for 4/5 years. Right so suppose something happens e.g Imagine the worst scenario. Chap falls down toilet steps and breaks his back. Immobile for Life plus care for Life needs if living alone.
Righto , contacts campsite. They contact their insurance company , who are loathe to pay out and wriggle out by saying, " not our problem, we didn't invite him here , he came invited by a star party organiser. It's his responsibility to pass on details for any insurance claim."
So if I organise another informal meet do I then have to get public liability insurance just in case, not like It's ok saying that we're all honest chaps and that a dislocated shoulder is easy fix. But , if the worse does happen.
Could get around it maybe just saying that we were individually booking with a campsite and would be doing some observing anyone wishing to do the same can do so.
Just like your thoughts on the matter.

Good haul there I dont know whether to bother with galaxies from here those triple star objects care worth a go though.
