The Skyliner and Bresser mirrors are about the same so a 10” will outperform an 8”
The difference between the two brands is the Bresser already has pretty well all the upgrades you would want to do to the Skyliner. The Bresser is probably cheaper in the end as you don’t need to upgrade although most can’t resist modding their dobs. It’s part of the hobby. 😁
Also the Bresser has proper bearings, a very good focuser, and uses tube rings so you can adjust the balance easily.

I think it's sounding like you should offer the handles as a separate item as well, Steve. Perhaps in a range of colours to match other manufacturer's colour schemes
James
Yes indeed. 😁
I had to order a scope just to get one of the handles. 🤣🤣🤣

Hi All, it would be nice to know if the handle`s have a smooth underside, i ask only that W/Optic original handle on the mk1 GT81 looked very tactile but had hard edge`s on the underside and when the scope had been out for a time the hard edge and the cold made using it very uncomfortable, i ended up wrapping tape around it.
I wish FLO the best of luck with their new endevour.
Regards
Mike
It looks like it’s ridged but not sharp edges.

The 80mm is really a visual scope but looks like the 85mm would be the choice for AP.

I respectfully disagree.
I agree that these scopes do look stunning. But I think it's the red hardware that really catches the eye. And there seem to me to be just as many, or more, non-white refractors sold these days as white ones.
I will always prefer a white tube myself, not only aesthetically, but because in use the white tube shows up more easily in the dark, and because they don't show lots of fingermarks like shiny black ones do.
I think FLO are to be applauded for bringing an ED apo doublet at F10 to the market, and it would be great if this could be extended to a 100mm F10 in the future.
I wish FLO every success with this very interesting new range.
Davehis frac. 🤔🙀😁
One person's solution to the “which colour frac” question. 😁😁

Yes. Definitely. It is supplied with a red-anodised handle 🙂
I will make some more photos of the telescope with handle fitted Mon/Tue.
Steve
Thanks for confirming that. 👍🏻
80mm f/10 now ordered. 🙂

Wanted to check. Does the 80mm f10 definitely come with the handle?

I think that OO will still do a 6” f/11 to order. Now that should spilt a few doubles I think. 🙂

Unscrewing the lens cell also helps when fitting the focuser flange as you can then stand the tube on end and tap the flange down gently with a rubber mallet if needs be.

Unusual that the holes would be drilled incorrectly but the replacement should be OK. 🙏🏼

I remember selling 8” discs a long while ago when I owned a computer shop. Then these new fangled 5 1/4 discs appeared. 😁.
Ah the days of Apple clones amongst other things.😂

Good to hear you have made the scope usable. 👍🏻
Re: sun filter. I hope you don’t mean the type that screws into the eyepiece. If so destroy it immediately as they are incredibly dangerous and must not ever, ever be used. They can shatter without warning possibly resulting in loss of sight in your eye.Sellers on eBay selling these should be reported to eBay so they can remove them from sale.

This is the scope.

Best thing about the FLO version though is it will get a checkover by E.S. Reid. 👍🏻

When you say the holes don’t align is it because the flange doesn’t fit into the tube all the way? 🤔
Have had to sand the inside of the tube to remove excess paint before in order to get the flange to fit all the way into the tube.

How did you get on with them John? Thought about wheeling up my dob as my back isn't getting any younger.
Mainly for rolling the dob around indoors. OK on smooth paving as well For rougher patios etc. just use bigger diameter wheels.
Makes it much easier to move the dob around.

Try Technobots. Thet should have one that will fit.

Try Agena Astro who sell lots of crayford focusers including GSO and they can supply a flat baseplate.to go with the focuser.Much better than the cheapie Orion one you have linked to for not too much more.
