  1. The Skyliner and Bresser mirrors are about the same so a 10” will outperform an 8”

The difference between the two brands is the Bresser already has pretty well all the upgrades you would want to do to the Skyliner. The Bresser is probably cheaper in the end as you don’t need to upgrade although most can’t resist modding their dobs. It’s part of the hobby. 😁

Also the Bresser has proper bearings, a very good focuser, and uses tube rings so you can adjust the balance easily.

Hi All, it would be nice to know if the handle`s have a smooth underside, i ask only that W/Optic original handle on the mk1 GT81 looked very tactile but had hard edge`s  on the underside and when the scope had been out for a time the hard edge and the cold made using it very uncomfortable, i ended up wrapping tape around it.

I wish FLO the best of luck with their new endevour.

    Regards

    Mike

It looks like it’s ridged but not sharp edges.

    I respectfully disagree.

I agree that these scopes do look stunning. But I think it's the red hardware that really catches the eye. And there seem to me to be just as many, or more,  non-white refractors sold these days as white ones.

I will always prefer a white tube myself, not only aesthetically, but because in use the white tube shows up more easily in the dark, and because they don't show lots of fingermarks like shiny black ones do.

I think FLO are to be applauded for bringing an ED apo doublet at F10 to the market, and it would be great if this could be extended to a 100mm F10 in the future.

I wish FLO every success with this very interesting new range:hello2:.

    Davehis frac. 🤔🙀😁

One person's solution to the “which colour frac” question. 😁😁

  4. Good to hear you have made the scope usable. 👍🏻

Re: sun filter. I hope you don’t mean the type that screws into the eyepiece. If so destroy it immediately as they are incredibly dangerous and must not ever, ever be used. They can shatter without warning possibly resulting in loss of sight in your eye.Sellers on eBay selling these should be reported to eBay so they can remove them from sale.

How did you get on with them John? Thought about wheeling up my dob as my back isn't getting any younger.

Mainly for rolling the dob around indoors. OK on smooth paving as well  For rougher patios etc. just use bigger diameter wheels.

Makes it much easier to move the dob around.
