  1. please help. I accidentally mixed up the polarity when connecting it. Today I took it to an electrician friend and he said it was completely burnt. I need to order a new one, and the store only has EQ6-R available and I wonder if it will fit. I'm going on a trip soon and I can't imagine not taking it with me. I have version without a USB.
  2. Hello, are both mounts supported by the same motherboard? Regards, Chris
  3. Beautiful set of refractors. Every day you can hang something different on the mount, depending on the conditions and your mood. As for the FT focusers, they are truly a wonderful addition to these amazing telescopes. They are much better than those that come standard with the scope.
  4. So now let's brainstorm how to add a finder to this setup 😅 Maybe you could recommend some clamps that I can mount on the focuser?
  5. Color free is exactly the word that comes to my mind when I think about this refractor with this extender Venus and some particularly bright stars such as Sirius do show some very minor color fringing but when you add this magical addition you can easily forget about them.
  6. Recently I also found such a setup made by a guy from CN. Double extender cq 1.7 giving F/21.6 😅
  7. Hello, I would like to show off the recently completed "perfect" traveler scope project. About half a year ago I bought a super Tak 76dcu refractor, the main goal was to add to my stable of refractors, something that I can quickly grab under my arm and go out into the field or set up on the balcony. This small telescope really positively surprised me with the amount of detail it is able to show on the planets and the moon. Compared to the FS 102, which I also currently have, it produces much whiter images. His older brother has a tendency to drag the image slightly into yellow. Of course, not like ED scopes, but it is noticeable. However, in FC76dcu the moon looks so raw and super sharp as if it were made of concrete. The whites are as white as snow and the blacks are as dark as pitch. Tested on bright stars, it works almost perfectly. I wrote almost, because only with the cq 1.7 extender it's incredibly stunning. The diffraction disk is beautifully evenly distributed, showing virtually perfect levels of spherical correction. In the project, I focused on ensuring that there were no bottlenecks, neither in the generated image nor in the mechanics. The first purchase was Extender cq 1.7, which changes the F ratio from F/7.5 to F/12.5. I think I don't need to describe the obvious advantages in planetary/lunar observations that this modification gives. Next, I replaced the stock 1.25" focuser, which, without an extension, extends only 1 inch. The choice fell on Feather Touch FTF2025BCR with the A20-302 adapter enabling connection to OTA. Thanks to this, I can use 2" accessories without any problems and the adjustment is increased to 2.5". I used a 2" BBHS prism as an diagonal. Silver-plated coatings + prism improve red transmission. I especially appreciate this in Jupiter observations, it beautifully brings out the salmon shades and browns inside the belts. The whole thing is suspended on a lightweight AZ GTI mount and Benro carbon legs. All that's left is to replace the clamps so I can add a finder and that's it Now I'm going to the balcony to admire the moon. Best regards, Chris
  8. Absolutely a good choice. Additionally, by purchasing some light mount, you will have a travel scope, grab&go. You can easily fit this set into your backpack.
  9. With such exponential growth of Chinese optics companies, I am more concerned about our local European manufacturers
  10. This Lzos is a great refractor, I've been trying to get one for a long time. Recently, I missed one, it was available on the German buy/sell. In Mr. Yoshida's ranking of planetary telescopes, it scored 85 points, placing it higher than TEC 140 and Zeis APQ130.
  11. For DS : Pentax xw 16,5, nagler 20, nagler 31 For planetary : Tak abbe 6 and 9, zeiss jena o-10, Toe 4mm
  12. you can put it in and we'll see if it's better to have 3 wooden or 2 human ones 🤣
  13. beautiful set and mount, but those wooden legs! I'm crazy about them!
  14. I even added electric controls to it, but personally I think I prefer manual control
  15. These skytee mounts are a very good . A nice solution for quickly setting up the set on the balcony. Sometimes I even hang APM 152/1200 on it and it runs without any problems. I only recommend purchasing a long Slow motion cable, it greatly increases the convenience of use. I took mine from an old assembly from the Japanese TOWA achromat. Shown in the 3rd photo.
  16. In recent days, after positive opinions about this eyepiece, I managed to buy it. In the coming days I will see how it compares to Tele Vue 3-6. There's going to be a duel between a first-league team and a second-league . We'll see what comes out of this comparison.
  17. beautiful refractor, such old long tubes can show really wonderful views. It's a pity that achromats with F>12 are not produced on such a scale nowadays. Even though these are not APO designs, they can correct chromatic aberration very nicely. I personally have a Zeiss Jena from DDR 63/840 f/13.3. I admit that when used with the Zeiss O-10 they provide crystalline views of the moon, as clear and clean from AC as modern good designs. Below I will include an interesting table showing how the F ratio to the lens diameter affects the visible chromatism.
  18. Congratulations on a successful procedure. The patient appears to have survived the surgery. Recently I cleaned the cell in my FS 102, a slightly more complicated procedure because it required re-collimation, but luckily everything worked.
  19. From what I tested and know personally, only Zeiss ortho can compete with them. I really like ortho and eyepieces with as little glass as possible. I've been collecting some of them lately After this review, I think I'll actually have to buy these SVBons and see for myself how they compare to the Tele Vue Zoom. The filters they make are very good, I recently bought SVB OIII and checked it with a friend's spectrometer and it works really well.
  20. I only recommend the Kruppax tube because it is 2x lighter than CNC
  21. If you can get it somewhere, I recommend the TMB 115. A beautiful, handy refractor. Super Feathertouch focuser, which is extendable and works with any type of bino. Dew is retractable. It may not be the lightest, but it's short. The images are delicious! Below is a comparison with Takahashi 100. The following refractor with a certified lens, with strhel 96.8. So qualitatively, he is in the same league as his Japanese colleague.
  22. thanks, I will try to contact them directly. We'll see what comes out.
  23. All takahashi eyepieces are wonderful, especially with such an elegant refractor as the FS128. Recently I also added a 4mm TOE to my set. However, my favorite is the abbe series, it seems to give the sharpest and contrastiest images. In combination with BBHS you don't need anything else ;)
  24. I tried to contact most of the people from that thread, but there was no response. That's why I decided to refresh the topic. I also heard about this company from Germany, but what I was most interested in, was someone reliable from our neighborhood. Contact with Galvoptics is also very difficult. I write and call and I feel like I'm being ignored. Maybe you still have someone reliable and good to contact.
