  1. Hi Folks Im thinking of getting either of these https://www.firstlightoptics.com/skywatcher-mounts/sky-watcher-az-gtix-dual-saddle-alt-azimuth-astronomy-mount.html https://www.firstlightoptics.com/skywatcher-mounts/sky-watcher-solarquest-solar-tracking-mount.html prob the dual saddle due to payload ? and pairing it up with this https://www.firstlightoptics.com/stellamira-telescopes/stellamira-110mm-ed-f6-refractor-telescope.html Am i right in saying I shoud get a decent field of view ? I want to try some basic astro photog with my dslr. Im going to make a pillar at my site, instead of using a tripod. At this stage I dont want to go mad on larger mounts. Do peole think this is a good combo? Thank you Carl
  2. I did think it would be something technical. I suppose you could then stack those two sets of images?
  3. What would people like to see in its current version with regard to firmware updates ? Me 1) For the app to flip to landscape 2) Have a dedicated Windows app so we can lounge about on our PCs 🙂 3) More editing features built in, curves, noise etc etc I agree with @LDW1 when MK2 comes along Im ready with my wallet. These things are just too easy lol
  4. I bought this to get the seestar level but it just so happens the slab I put it on ( which I laid, read plonked down) is, by some miricle, flat as you like! 😀
  5. Yeah, I've got solar film on my dob but hungry for more detail 😋
  6. you can't go wrong with m42 😃
  7. currently 'seeing' NGC 281 come alive through the seestar ! 🙂
  8. Cheers folks Out of interest, Why is there not such a thing as a H a filter I can directly screw into my EPs ?
  9. Ok folks, its that age old question. One of those 'what should I get' questions Im looking at getting a solar scope and obviously want to see as much detail as poss. However some of the scopes are massively expensive while some others are in reach financially In reach https://www.firstlightoptics.com/lunt-solar-40-50mm-h-alpha-telescopes/lunt-ls50tha-h-alpha-solar-telescope.html So, are there cheaper scopes with more features but maybe a bit lower in quality or should I look at higher quality with lower spec. Does that make sense ? I basically want to plop it on a tripod, attach my phone and take snaps but also use it traditionally and just look down it ! I have been doing the old YouTube and some the Lunt images are amazing, but the cost !! WOW ! Carl
  10. Yes, the Sun popped out today !!
  11. At last !!! A break in the weather!
  12. Just went out and bought a Galaxy Tab S9 and it's all sweet and dandy with the S50 software. I will enjoy the much larger screen than is on my phone.
  13. I refuse to buy any apple product.🫣 dougee T20? Never heard of em. Will take a look 😀 I can't imagine any problems with newer Samsung tablets, but a confirmation would be great before buying one. At present I'm using my s23 ultra and although its good, I want a bigger screen.
  14. Guys, what Tablets are you using with your seestar? Specifically, anyone using Samsung tablets ? Im looking at getting a new tablet as my old samsung wont download the software. Im presuming newer Samsung will no problem
  15. Very nice build, Peter. I like the idea of fixing a larger thumb wheel for the potentiometer, an idea I will pinch 🙂
  16. I didnt spend enough time on this but not bad 🙂 Gotta figure out the easiest software to use to tweak out some detail !
  17. Thats it. A compliment to, not a replacement for 🙂 I think they're great. A planetary version would be incredible !
  18. Edit the above.. Just realised, I have to take video!
  19. One thing I noticed. when I tried to Go To the moon to do some frames it slewed on target but it was super bright and blew out the exposure. The exposure scale on the side didnt help matters ? what did I do wrong. I thought it would auto expose. I couldnt take any stacked images, just snapshots
  20. Im out now. Had a faff to start with calibrating/moon finding. Taken some imagery of M42 and currently on M31 How long should I keep going with frames etc ? Its at 8 minutes so far. Does it auto stop, or do I stop it when I think it looks good ?
