    Found the error and corrected it - simulation now working. Next to add the motor code.

    Added code to simulate the way the focus buttons are supposed to function but it's not right yet.

    Sorted out the Main Control viz. Camera Cooling and Dew Heater.

    For the focussing control I think I'll stick with the four buttons in a row - it's more logical and needs less editing. I don't think I need a reminder of which way I was going ? Seems like the light only needs two of the four conditions. Yellow for BUSY which moving the focus and off (grey) for IDLE. (It could go green after the motor has run, for a second or so and then go off - indicating OK then IDLE. That would show that something has happened if the fine focus is so quick that the yellow light doesn't show.)

    I think I may want to add an extra level of dome heating to dry off raindrops. That shouldn't be difficult - just a bit fiddly. Ah, just thought - already using all four pins on the connector - hmmm... Had an idea - change the control to work like the camera cooler. OTOH might not need the lower amount of heating - may be enough from the camera cooling hot side. I could change the resistors to run at a higher current.
  6. Since you haven't yet started the top of your observatory, you might like to consider having one side lower as well as a drop-down flap at one end.
  7. Definitely was yesterday. Alright today if the rain keeps off but we need a lot more rain for the gardens - yes I've taken up gardening... That's why it's been dry and hot!!!
  8. We've had rain too. Woke up at 5am and it was chucking it down. Stopped now but dull and cloudy. Looked like brightening up earlier but now it's solid cloud cover.

    Next will be to rearrange the controls in the panel and change ISR_1OFMANY to ISR_ATMOST1.

    Back to coding... Bit early yet for serious thinking but I've tried a little something to improve appearance. Tried using "FOCUS_TAB" for the focus controls and it worked. Code section concerned - original commented out :- // IUFillSwitchVector(&FocusSP, FocusS, 4, getDeviceName(), "FOCUS", "Focussing", OPTIONS_TAB, IP_RW, ISR_1OFMANY, 0, IPS_IDLE ); IUFillSwitchVector(&FocusSP, FocusS, 4, getDeviceName(), "FOCUS", "Focussing", FOCUS_TAB, IP_RW, ISR_1OFMANY, 0, IPS_IDLE );
  12. Good progress Get a good magnifying glass (or even microscope) to see those remaining bits. I wouldn't worry about the edge - it's all too easy to go a bit too far into the blue area (or gold wires).

    Exposures of 60s with about a second or so download time before the next exposure. Camera temperature 3.5°C with full cooling. The breeze has gone and it's a warm stuffy night. I'm sitting in front of a big fan to keep cool hoping it will cool down a bit soon so I can go to bed.

    I think this is going to be the best view of the stars tonight - as the sun goes down the moon comes up!

    Going up to 60s exposures with no delay (other than download time).

    Well, I guess the hill to the east is a few degrees higher than the ASC as it's 5m since moonrise.

    Moon's a bit later rising tonight.
