      no martin the duration shouldn't match, the only thing that should be the same is focuser position, camera orientation and ISO setting pop the camera into AV mode and snap away it will set the exposure automatically this is why they have to be done the same night if you take the camera off the scope you will never get it back in exactly the same position

      it is dark frames that have to match the lights exposure time

      i'd say its not possible due to the resolution of amatuer scopes. you'd need avery very large scope to see anything left behind

      and i mean very large martin to resolve the lunar rover you would need a scope about 75 metres in diameter :)

      we are due to go out on the 5th jan martin, given the weather at the mo it could be changed if it looks like we would be clouded out. I will let you know whats going on martin but i do think it will be a last minute call

      some might suggest its a bit excessive when you have GOTO ;)

      set yourself an afternoon aside for the collimation print this guide http://www.astro-baby.com/collimation/astro babys collimation guide.htm read it then read it again and slowly take your time
