  1. Hi all, I'm still waiting to get started this season so just had a quick re process of the cone nebula I took over just one night in March. This is 2.75 hours of 5 min subs therefor it's massively over stretched but was playing around with colour palettes in pixinsight. ! I've got two targets to finish from last year this and the Tadpoles & going to commit to 10 hrs per target. Anyway I'm sure the colour palette isn't for everyone but just fancied something a bit different from my usual processing . Cheers Paul
  2. Hi all, I've taken a couple of months off through galaxy season so ready to go again once the nebula's clear my obstructions. I'm having to get my astro fix at the moment from re processing some old data with hopefully improved techniques in pixinsight. I took this one over two nights in January ( just 3 hours) but never posted as I wasn't happy with it at the time but having just re processed it I think it might have more potential than I originally thought. I've got this one along with a couple of others to revisit this year to add data and hopefully get a nice image. Anyway I feel refreshed and ready to go again !! 37 x 5 min subs with 294 mc pro + L extreme Cheers Paul
  3. Pretty sure this is my last post of a nebula this season due to obstructions and altitudes of remaining targets. This is just 90 mins on the Christmas tree cluster mainly to get a start on it for next year but quite surprised there's a fair bit of nebulosity come out. Obviously with such a short integration it's missing a lot of detail but will definitely persevere with it to split the HA & OIII and start it again a good couple of months earlier next season. I don't have the gear really for galaxies so gonna take a break for a while until the nebulas are up again but will be checking in to see everyone's amazing galaxy images. All the best Paul
  4. I've got both the L enhance and the L extreme paired with my 294 mc pro and have to say there's a real problem with halo's with the L extreme so if I'd have known then what I know now I would have stuck with the L enhance. I may of course just got a bad l extreme copy but thought it was worth mentioning. Cheers Paul
  5. Beautiful rendition of the Soul nebula👍
  6. Thanks Steve it was pretty much the only clear night for a month
  7. I had a relatively clear night on Sunday but with wind around 18 mph for most of the night. Guiding was a real challenge and was between 1 to 1.5 arc sec ( normally 0.6 to 1.0) so kind of knew the stars would be horrendous. Given the conditions I almost didn't bother setting up but took my chances ! Anyway I managed to get 3.5 hours of 5 min subs on the monkey head nebula using a zwo 294 mc pro, L extreme filter and the asi air plus. Processed in APP and Pixinsight. Cheers Paul
  8. Thank you all for your comments.....much appreciated. 👍
  9. Hi all, I managed to get an additional two hours on the Rosette nebula taking it up to just under 6 hours of 5 minute subs but with a couple of others to finish I'm going to call this one done for this season. I think this is one of the most beautiful of winter targets and the first time I've imaged it so overall quite pleased and can always add to the data next year. I went a bit more bold on the processing this time having watched a new OSC workflow video from Lukomatico and much prefer the colours in this one. Clear skies Paul
  10. Both are stunning images but I actually prefer the colour palette in the first one. Beautiful images 👍
  11. Hi all, just thought I'd post this one up probably as work in progress. It's IC 1805 the heart nebula though there is a small bit portion at the bottom missing which I think is called the fish head nebula ? On reflection I should have done this one as a two panel mosaic and actually still might. Clouds here have been so bad I've only got 4.5 hours of 5 min subs throughout the whole of January but I think there's some Oiii coming through now. Anyway, looking at clear outside if there is to be second panel it wont be this week ! 55 x 5 min subs 294 mc pro L extreme filter asi air plus Processed in pixinsight CS Paul
  12. Hi all, joined the forum this week so just thought I'd post something up to get started. This is just 4 hours of data ( 50 x 5 min subs) of the Rosette nebula using a SW 102, ZWO 294mc pro, optolong L extreme and the asi air plus. Stacked in APP and processed in pixinsight. I might have called it final but I think it needs more data ! Thanks for looking
  13. Hi all, I'm new to this forum so just introducing myself . I'm Paul Holdsworth living in Barnsley South Yorkshire & imaging from a bortle 6/7 sky . I've been into astro photography for around two and a half years and absolutely love it. Hope to contribute as much as I can to the forum & wish everyone a great 2022.....oh an of course clear skies ! Regards Paul
  14. Hi there, yes I've been using an asi air for the last couple of years and recently upgraded to the latest version the asi air plus in December. I used to use a lap top with APT, PHD 2 and all the rest of it and have to say I would never go back to a lap top . I would highly recommend the asi air plus it's an amazing piece of kit that just works. This link below for a detailed review on you tube is probably the best I've seen .......hope this helps Regards Paul
  15. Thank you Tony. Appreciate your comments and also for pointing me in the right direction regarding using the forum. Regards Paul

    Soul Nebula

Hi all, I'm new to this forum so guessing this is where you upload an image. This is around 5 hours of data of the Soul nebula using a 294 mc pro and a L extreme filter captured in December 2021. Just thought I'd use this just to say hello really and introduce myself as new to the forum. Regards Paul Holdsworth
