  1. Good luck! As for me, would you believe that I'm in the middle of a snow storm? Isabelle
  2. That's what I figured when I saw it last night. Mind you, even for a moon shot itself, I prefer when it is not full. The rest of my week should be covered so moon or no moon,.. I should have gone out in the end. Isabelle
  3. That idea for an archive is a good one but I must admit that the weather had never truly participated with that idea for me. I hope you have a chance tonight! Isabelle
  4. Congrats now sit down with a celebratory drink and wait for the night to come! Doesn't it feel god when an important project is completed with success? Isabelle
  5. Really crisp pictures there! Congratulations! Isabelle
  6. I'm happy that you were able to capture some cloudless time out there! There are no clouds tonight but with the moons being as bright as it is. I doubt any Messier objects are to be discovered by my scope. :) Isabelle
  7. Thanks for the link tibbs! Isabelle
  8. Great star points on those Vega shots and that picture of the moon couldn't be clearer! You must be proud of those captures! Isabelle
  9. I have tried to view it many times but that is a fast little "[removed word]" in the sky! Isabelle
  10. Very nice. I did like the first picture more than the rest since it seemed truer to what is seen in the eyepiece. The colour variations of the last two does give us a different perspective though. Thank you for sharing! Isabelle
  11. I'm like you in the fact that I prefer viewing on the weekends since I do not have to wake up early the next day. Saturn is indeed very beautiful and I was completely taken aback when I first saw it. I do not prefer viewing the moon when it is full since the glare of the reflected light seems to "wash away" the details. I prefer the waning and waxing stages myself. Keep the passion alive and don't forget to share. Isabelle
  12. Acquiring new equipment feels like Christmas for a 5 year old doesn't it? I'm still waiting for my new telescope (one that is portable enough to go wilderness camping with), a new Barlow and my laser collimator. Christmas will soon be here for me as well,.. Isabelle
  13. I have seen many satellites but have yet to follow one successfully with the scope. Like you, it happened that a meteorite blazed by my line of sight. What a fireball it was. I nearly fell out of my astro-chair! I couldn't help myself but actually cried at it's beauty and my unbelievable luck! :D How many times does this happen that a meteorite falls EXACTLY where you are looking at with a scope? Yeah,... We were both really lucky and I doubt it will happen again. One question,.. Did you play the lottery that night? Isabelle
  14. You have every right to be pleased with this! It's stunning! Isabelle

A sandstorm? and I thought that clouds were a problem! :(
  17. I'm sorry that you live in such a hostile area. I hear lights and rocks don't "do well" together. For some reason they leap out of a person's hands and hit lights straight on! Interesting phenomenon actually. Maybe a little experimentation may be needed,.. Just kidding. Or am I? Isabelle :)

I envy you,.. We've had nothing but clouds the last few nights. Little glitches here and there but in the end, you had a great night! Isabelle
  19. Light pollution can truly destroy an experience. Do you know your neighbours very well? Maybe you could give them a call to turn them off for a little. Maybe I'm just dreaming,... Isabelle
  20. I wish you clear skies! Isabelle
  21. I'm happy you got a nice view from the kitchen but I'm told that whatever you saw,.. it would have been even better outside! Oh well,.. What do I know? Isabelle
  22. Well, you don't need clear skies for the building part right? Once done though, I can only wish you clear skies for the weekend! Isabelle
