Or you could always try this thread here for some inspiration.

Links into a nother DIY focuser build.

Have yet to get mine up and running fully yet as still need a project box to house the stepperbee in and the wheel that I had printed would look good on a dumper truck, butnot so great on my scope.  May look at taking just teh centre spindle out as that is round and of a decent enough size to put the band on.

Have tried teh stepper on its own running the driver that was linked through my thread and it works a treat.  This was controlled in BYN (BackYardNikon) and all the step buttons on there worked a treat, so there is no reason to think that it will not work once I connect the stepper shaft to the focuser wheel.  Will be ridiculousy small steps on it as the focuser is an 11:1 on teh fine control wheel and the the stepper motor goes through a 640:1 reduction gearbox.

in fact, ithe reduction gearbox on the stepper motor may even be more than that.....nope...my bad...am out by a factor of ten.  Is a 64 reduction on the gearbox.  Still will be fine enough once going onto the fine focuser control
