Telrad Finder Problem

I have just bought a Telrad finder as I have never been able to get on with the finder on my scope 8.75 reflector.   I have attached the Telrad to the tube on my Dob and aligned it the scope view, but when the scope is moved around to view another object the the scope is no longer lined up with the Telrad, it is not loose on the on the tube. Any help I would be grateful.

Have you attached the Telrad on it base to the tube, if it is then it goes where ever the tube goes and stays lined up, my Dob has a stand off base but the Telrad is always aligned....

Have you tightened the small screws on the base?

Hi Trevor.  If the Telrad is firmly attached and aligned to the tube, then it should not change when you move the tube, so is there any chance that the components within the Telrad itself are loose ?

Hi All, the Telrad is is firmly attached to the base with the screws tight there does not seem to be any loose components.  I shall try again tonight as it is clear it's puzzling as the Telrad I know should follow the scope as mentioned.

It's a mystery seem to be behaving itself now maybe because it's halloween :-)  Thanks for your help.

One thing I've found is that your head/eye does need to be in the right position or else a dimmer secondary reflection of the bullseye can be seen. Must get myself one of those 'riser' standoffs - looks good. Glad it is sorted now! Telrad is the job

If you can see the moon tonight center your scope at the intersection of the shadow and edge/limb. Then line up the Telrad.
