Update: I have added realistic views (as from our local dark site, within 30 deg of zenith on a transparent night).

really great resources, really well presented. its a shame i no longer remember the days when it wasn't raining.

how did you make the sketches? are they computer generated or did you draw them and scan and titivate them?

The "sketches" are generated with Stellarium (see citation in page footers), then modified with GIMP to look more like what I see from a reasonably good semi-rural site. The southern hemisphere ones are more from memory, as it's 4 years since I was last in Zim.
