Focusing the skywatcher 50mm finder help please

Hi all, could anyone explain to me please how you focus the 50mm finder that comes with the skywatcher 200 telescope. I ahve everything blurred and I have turned the lens etc but nothing focuses. Many thanks, and clear skys even though its now just started snowing here again.

Turn the objective (the big one) and it will eventually focus.

Hi Daz, I tried turning it clockwise and it started showing a lot of screw thread and grease, i dont want to go any further incase it falls off, but i shall try again, thanks.

Mate,

Have you screwed up the other ring???, act's as a locking ring to stop the objective lens from unscrewing.

lol thanks Jaffa, i noticed that after a while, duh its my nightworking head all scrambled at the moment.

Just behind the objective lens there is a knurled ring and in front of it the "Dew shield".

Rotate the knurled ring untill you reach focus and then use the dew shield as a locking ring...

To make things a bit easier why don't you come to the starparty in Wales in May and we can all take your scope, mount and finder apart and show you how it all works...Just bring lots of beer and pizza and venison steaks and ...

Dont forget that these things should focus a very long way away so dont go looking at the bottom of your garden or something when trying to sort focus

cheers gordon, i am waiting for an elusive star to appear somewhere so i can focus on it, been snowing again here today so the sky is pretty dismal.
