Help with binoculars please.

Hi, iv just purchased a skywatcher explorer 150p with the eq3- 2 mount, I'm wandering what binoculars would be good to get just for picking my target and glancing at the stars? I dont want anything expensive as iv spent quite a bit already, any opinions welcome, thanks.

Revelation 15 x 70's less than £50 delivered. I love mine, just recently found M81 and M82 the other day with them.

If 10x50 then go for the Bresser / Meade model, if 7x50 then go for the Helios Fieldmaster model. Each costs less than £50 and you can use them without a tripod.

any BAK4 porro prisms in 10x50 or 15x70 will pair up well with your telescope

The Revelation 15x70's are great but really need a tripod if you are going to use them for long - you will also struggle to find anyone with stock at the moment.

10x50's are widely regarded as the optimal size for handheld use.

For general purpose spotting 10x50 is as big as you really want to go, if they are still for sale there is a pair of Strathspay 10x50 bins which were awarded Sky at Nights accolade some time ago, at a very reasonable price.

Its the angles for observing while standing i've found slighty awkward, certainly no desperate need for a tripod. A garden recliner has been recomended to me for comfort.

Thanks again for all your advice, iv had a look at all mentioned and they are all within my budget. Still waiting for a clear night since I bought my scope last Friday I haven't seen anything through it apart from a brick on a house down the street, it's all set up and ready to go tho.

If going for 50mm binocs, be sure to get BaK-4s. Cheap BaK-7s may dissappoint.

Also if budget allows, go for gas filled to help with those damp UK nights

I recently bought a set of 10-30x50 bino's from lidl for £14, the zoom is not so good but at 10x mag they are pretty good.

I've got Bresser 10x50s, they came with a book on stargazing with binoculars. Cost about £30 if memory serves and they did me for a year of observing before I got a telescope.
