Hotech SCA Laser Collimator

Hi,

I'm new to astronomy and have just purchased a second hand Celetron Omni 150 which is in dire need of collimation. I have read various articles and forum threads on laser v cheshire and have decided that laser is the way for me. I like the idea of the centering capability of the Hotech but wondered if anybody has an opinion as to whether its worth the premium over other laser collimators?

I've been through several cheaper collimators that all proved unsatisfactory for different reasons till I finally decided to get a Hotech. Now I wish I'd got one in the first place and not wasted money on the others - the Hotech's first class.

That said - some folk do get on ok with other types

I'd recommend but I've got the 2" one.

Once you've got the hang it's a cinch to use.

Hotech is very good and should you 'ever' need to collimate it, that is also possible which can't be said for some of the other brands.

You'll still need a cheshire to align your 2ndry tho
