where are they all ??

Hi all at SGL.

At the end of this month i will recieve my new VX10L from OOUK and for the past few months scince ordering i have been trying to build up a kit of accsesories so that i can get straight on to observing when it arrives.

But what i need to know is: Is there anything out there that can tell me what planets will be above my horison at any given date and roughly were they will be.

I am in south cumbria @54 deg N.

Stellarium will show that.

Download for your PC at www.stellarium.org Set up is easy and the interface is very intuitive. Don't forget to set your location before you begin - the fellow who wrote Stellarium is in France and the program defaults to there if you don't tell it otherwise!

Heavens above is good for a quick look, but you should download stellarium too.

Hello Ken

You have just missed Jupiter, but it will be back around next year. The good news is Saturn is getting good at the moment.

As others have said, get Stellarium and this will show you where to look.
