The Met Offices definition of "clear night"....

With all the advances in technology you would think they could get a days forecast right let alone 3 days. Having watched the Met's forecast for sometime now it appears to be a waste of resources and tax payers money.

Look out of the window and decide for yourself is the best forecast. Enjoy ya pint Gaz and don't slip on the way home when the Snow arrives :)

Gaz

I use the metcheck website.

I have worked out how to read their forecasts.

If it says it is mainly clear with <20% cloud it will be clear.

If it says it will be mainly clear with >20% cloud there will be a haze of high cloud but the brighter objects will be visibile (not the faint fuzzies!!)

If it says partly cloudy <50% then the sky will have clear patches but you can guarantee that the clouds will cover the objects you plan to observe :)

Cheers

Ian
