Light Pollution Filters

Has anyone come across these before and are they actually any good as I suffer greatly from it near me in Manchester and am looking for ways to cut this down as much as I can.

I use a Light pollution reduction filter from Skywatcher on my 130P and I was testing it with and without today on the moon. You can really notice a orange tinge to the moon when not using the filter ( I have a few street lights right outside my house) so I personally think you should get one.

Hi' i use a 2'' and 1.25 filters with the eyepieces.I do find them a great help when observing and they stop the glare on street light.Mark

That settles it then cheers guys I think I will have to get me one, I tried a little in the back garden tonight but either clouds or streetlights got in the way and I got quite annoyed as I'm really itching to use my new scope but can't at the minute.

I used my mates 1.25 filter a while ago when i saw the difference on what i could see and what i was missing out of seeing i soon got one.Mark

Jonathon - I just took delivery of a light pollution filter. I can't see a "cloud" setting on it but as soon as it's clear I can let you know what impact it has!
