PHP calibration step setting

Hi

So i have tested my new QHY5, ST4 cable with my EQ6 Mount - drivers etc all work fine and i hope to try it outside over the weekend.

I have read the material and it all sees quite simple, one question I have is about the Calibration step setting which is 750 by default

My guide scope will be my

ST80 - 80mm (3.1") f5 Refractor

Will the defult Cal setting of 750 be ok ?

It might be, with short focal length scopes you may well need to increase the value. It also sometimes happens if you're trying to calibrate near the NCP. Try it and see how you go!

For the ST80, I use 1200 as the step size and it does the job well.

same setup here and I use 1500 so it does need to be increased to allow the mount to move far enough to complete the calibration in time

1500 sounds about right for that sort of scope.
