Updating EQ6 Mount

Hello SGL,

I am trying to update my EQ6 Pro SkyScan mount from version 3.23 to 3.27. I have followed the instructions in the manual, downloaded the files to my computer, but I cannot open the files. The files end with .ssf, windows cannot open this file and wants to go on the Internet for help. I have followed this route and ended up with un wanted junk and minor problems with the computer. I have (hopefully) managed to remove all the un wanted stuff.

Can anybody in SGL land help me with opening these files and up dating my EQ6 Mount?

Any suggestions would be most grateful.

You also need to download ans instal the firmware loader found on the same webpage as the firmware. This is required to upload the new firmware onto the handset. Follow the instructions on how to update the firmware as found in the Synscan operating manual.

Thanks for the info, after playing around for what seems ages and getting nowhere I brought a new RS-232 to USB cable (£19.99 from Maplins, ouch) and then everything worked fine. Transfer was done in a couple of minutes and I am now upto version 3.27.
