NGC 1499 - California Neb - still work in progress

Well I got another 2 hours of data last night before the cloud rolled in. This is processed from all so far ( 4 hours ) - 2 hours of 3.5 minutes at ISO 1600, and 2 hours of 6 and 7 minutes at ISO 400. There is no doubt that if the moon hadn't been up, then the 400ISO shots would have given better results than the ISO1600 shots. So for my mind anyway, longer subs at lower ISO's is the answer.

Still a work in progress as I want to get 400ISO subs on a dark night without the moon, but I thought I'd post this anyway to show the progress so far and what I've managed with an unmodded Canon 1000D. Some lines showing where the subs overlap from different sessions but as I'll probably ditch these eventually, I'm not too worried about it.

Regards

John
