Anyone seen this galaxy....

Last night I saw Codingtons Nebula IC2574 which is actually a galaxy just to the left of M81/82. It was very dim and better with averted vision but I could just make out the elongated shape.

Anyone else seen it.

No I have not, it looks like a very low surface brightness 14.7? I have seen NGC 3077 and NGC2976 but not your IC one...Well done!

I didn't think it was as dim as that. It looked very similar to M33 actually in brightness. With averted vision and sweeping quickly I managed to catch a glimpse of it, and maybe a little core but that might be wishful thinking.

I've seen it - albeit accidently earlier on this year.

I recall it being rather misshapen and nebulaic in structure - compared to the neat shapes of Bodes Nebulae!
