SPC900 Webcam Queries

Recommended Posts

I have just flashed a 880 to a 900 and I have installed it onto my XP laptop, I need a little help:

1. What software should I use to display the image on the PC.

2. What settings do I need to do to setup for moon and planets?

3. Any tutorials that I can read.

I have used a DSLR but the framrate is not that good for planets, so going down this webcam route.

Thanks in advance for any help

I think the ideal settings vary depending on equipment and conditions. I am definitely no expert at this, but below are the settings that worked best for me last night while imaging Jupiter:

[Philips SPC 900NC PC Camera]

Brightness=64

Contrast=32

Saturation=0

Gamma=0

ColorEnable=255

BacklightCompensation=0

Gain=18

Exposure=-4

Resolution=640x480

Frame Rate (fps)=10.00

Colour Space / Compression=I420

Cheers,

Chris
