What is a v filter?

If you are taking a LRGB filter but there is a v filter is that instead of green?

The v filter it seems is between 500nm to 600nm or there abouts. So it's green.

I don't think the response is quite the same as a normal RGB green. It's part of a photometric set normaly.

Yeah, V is a properly defined photometric filter centred about 550nm. For pretty pictures, it'll do the same job as G (which isn't properly defined), but probably cost you more

Actually V defines the spectral response of the filter / sensor combination.

For pretty pictures, it'll do the same job as G

But you will need a much longer exposure - photometric filter sets are designed for accuracy, not transmission.
