Hi all,

I know that on saturday the moon will be about half full, I was wondering what time it was going to set, and how much a half full moon will affect the skies for DSO observing? I will be observing from my dark site.

my calender has the moon at first quarter 21:27 UT 14th October and apogee for the 18th october@ 18:00 UT (universal time). Not sure if thats much help.

Thanks.... ?? I just dont know if I should bother planning to go to my dark site (30+ miles away) or plan something with the family????

u can use Stellarium or online resources

i like Heavens Above website for quick check on what Lunar's doing

rise, set, and max altitude times are noted

up at 15.53 and down and 00.23 obviously weather and horizon permitting it should be ok
