Unusual configuration of Jupiter's moons

Not a biggy, really, but if you get a chance to observe Jupiter tonight (Oct 03/04), in binoculars, you will see the Galilean satellites all to the right of the planet and in order of the size of their orbits: from the left, Jupiter, Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto.

Would like to see that, but clouds prevent it

At least on Jupiter there are no idiots who say that such an alignment of all major satellites on one side spells DOOM

During a decent gap in the cloudage, I was able to enjoy the view. It seems like an age since I've had a scope out...........

I did manage to get a peek at it, though the haze was so severe a 10x50 was insufficient, and I had to grab the 15x70.

I caught jupiter in my 15x70 bins tonight and the four moons were to the left
