Stellarium and Goto sync issue

Hi all,

I am a little confused and need some expert help!

I am having some problems aligning and getting Stellarium in sync with my scope handset. If, for example, my exact co-ordinates were 51.2344°N 1.4062°W, does anyone know exactly how this should be entered into the handset of the Skywatcher AZ Goto and also Stellarium as they seem to have different input formats?

Coords can be in a number of different formats and even based upon different datum (eg OSGB36 or WGS84)

My understanding is that you will need to convert from decimal WGS84 to hours:minute:second.

I'm not at computer at the moment and so can't recall the site I've used before, but remember it being linked through from heavens above website.

Btw, although we tend to use OSGB for mapping, I think WGS84 Datum is the standard for astronomy.....but am happy to be corrected.

Google maps has a new feature where the longitude and latitude is displayed as you move the mouse around - I believe that this is displayed in a decimal format.

Arushin - may I suggest that you delete your precise coordinates! Whilst everyone on the forum is really nice (!!) some folk are not and knowing exactly where your expensive gear is..............

For the handset input your location coordinates as ddd mm W, dd mm N. For Stellarium your coordinates are input as dd mm ss N, ddd mm ss W.
