My first CCD image - NGC 281 Pacman

Having spent 2 years using a modified DSLR I decided to have a go at LRGB with a 314L+ using just Lum

This is my first attempt...

Strangely it looks inside out... ?? What am I doing wrong?

Inside out? Looks alright to me. Have you tried flipping it in your editing software?

Its another learning curve... its hard to imagine Ive got 2 sky at night cover disk images and a picture of the week on here

Total Noob!... but with help from Olly (thanks Olly) and others am sure it will be a good long term decision

Looks like a good start to ccd imaging! I have a nikon so the ccd imaging was a joy in comparison to that.i Look forward to seeing some more images.

Very nice start Guy for first try at CCD. It is a bit different from a DSLR !!

Your one up on me Coco, still have not managed an image from my CCD set up yet. A good start id say.

I have nothing to compare ie. not a DSLR user, but I wanted to be able to get close into DSO's and capture detail which is why I went the CCD route. Look forward to your LRGB pictures and hopefully you can share your processing experience, as I am learning lots. I really think I want to go narrowband too, no light pollution problems then I do believe and I can even use my 120 Achro then for imaging.
