Both scopes out, cooled just in time for the cloud cover.........

Once again, the clouds got me! I put the dobs out in clear conditions and just as I went out to start observing with them cooled and the sky dark enough a bank of cloud rolls in from the West - doh!

Why do we keep moaning about it, there's no point

May as well leave them out as it may clear later for a peek a Jupiter again between the clouds with any luck.

I'm doing the peeking at Jupiter thing just now - GRS showing nicely around the central meridian just now

Lots of clouds around so it's touch and go though ....

Big cloud bank welled up from the SE and overwhelmed Jupiter. Earlier hazy, thin, cloud veil was quite OK to view through but this new stuff makes things impossible.

Never mind - got an hour in which I wasn't expecting

still rubbish - total white out. hanging about for another half hour or so then off to bed after bringing in the scopes.

Had that same problem tonight. Up until sunset the sky was crystal clear and no sooner than the sun goes down, the clouds roll in. Not happy, I was hoping to get a good view of the GRS transit

I am not far from you Tom in Stockport so it's the same cloud bank I reckon did for us both. Frustrating to say the least!

It was the same, it looked absolutely dire on Sat24 watching that mass of cloud coming in. Tonight isn't looking so good either but Tuesday night into Wednesday looks promising.
