Early Jupiter from tonight's session (23/24 Aug)

Some good seeing tonight and lots of files captured. Off to bed now but couldn't resist putting together an early RGB showing the GRS just coming into view. Clouds have appeared now so a natural end to the night. Just as well as I've just about filled my laptop

It's a great shot BTW, but I have this unnatural thirst for detail at the moment that sort of bulldozes any aethetic consideration.

Thanks for the comments. Clayton, I like the rework but on close inspection I don't think it actually brings anything else out of the original. I'll be revisiting this set when I've worked my way through all of the other AVI's which I'm now taking my time over and processing properly.

Truly a thing of beauty! I thought only the Hubble could take images like that!

I agree. It just appears sharper and noisier. Not better.

May appeal to some but not to others.

IMHO the real quality is determined at capture, and yours is a darned good capture, which will respond well to many forms of PP.
