Welcome from Wiltshire, I visited Jodrell Bank last Autumn, watching them move the big radio telescope dish was a wow moment for me. Jupiters moons are fascinating, especially if you observe them over a couple of hours and watch them change position as they orbit the planet.

Thanks all for the welcomes.

Well I bit the bullet and got a scope from first light optics. Its a Skywatcher Heritage 130p, I was tempted by something with a bigger aperture but the dob mount and flextube on it was what sold me - I don't have a huge amount of storage space so the ability to collapse the tube down for storage and transit was perfect. Also £130 delivered for a 130mm scope seemed like great value. I'll be working from home tomorrow to accept the delivery but no doubt it'll be cloudy for the next month.
