Gamma Delphinus and Struve 2725

Recommended Posts

Two double stars in the same FOV. A really special sight. Gamma Delphinus was the brighter pairing at Mag 4.5 and 5.5. A light yellow primary and a paler secondary. The secondary had a hint of blue to my eyes. Separation 9.6" PA 268 degrees

To the southwest Struve 2725 was a fainter pairing, but the second brightest stars in the FOV. Mags 7.3 and 8.0. Both stars appeared to have a very pale yellow colour to them. PA 009 degrees. Separation is said to be 5.7" , but it did appear to be roughly the same separation as Gamma Delphinus. It might be the glare from Gamma made the Gamma pairing appear closer than they are in reality!?

Sketch from 16" at x107 magnification.
