Sunspot 1084 - 27 June 2010

Here is my first real attemp to capture a sunspot, I only have an old 6" Meade reflector, the image was taken with Badder solar filter, Canon EOS10D with a 2x barlow and Green filter with a shuuter speed of 350 and ISO 800

The focus isn't that good but as I have been told I may need to move my primary mirror, also a lot more practice is needed.

yes but I wouldn't say it makes a massive difference, I find that in just white light a small spot can sometimes seem to fade a little. The filter seems to take some of the glare off and make the spots a little easier to see.

Have you done some post processing on your image to give it that purple effect?
