I noticed a big difference in my RAW files from Saturday night, I was shooting ISO1600 on M51, boy'o'boy are they noisy, 5 mins and they looked like they had measels..

Time to get a cooler camera me thinks, what a difference 12 degree's has made since last week....

Well if heat makes colour images noisey then i would say go with a mono camera. Mono seems to highlight more detail while being more forgiving with noise.

Yes I do but it rarely gets a look in, not that there is anything wrong with it and I like the big chip but I love the flexibility of mono - the option to bin the colour, narrowband sensitivity and resolution. I've never felt there was a time saving with OSC but it is a cost effective option. The QHY8 is a lot of camera for the money but you have one hand tied behind your back. Having said that, we've all seen the stunning results achievable with OSC.
