Lovely view of the crater gassendi tonight with my 12 year old James. I explained it is 67 miles accross with three mountains the size of Snowdon I said. He looked enthrawled. I said I guess we will not get to climb them together....

The best view was with the 9mm Ortho so I guess 150x. This gave enought details to sketch but it did not move accross the FOV too fast..

What a lovely memory for James! Gassendi's long been one of my favorites. When first becoming illuminated, the eastern edge reminds me of lace, it's sooo delicate looking. And a 9mm ortho (University Optics brand) is my lunar ep.

Mark are you turning to the lunar side, don't hear alot from you concerning the moon. It's a magnificent crater and the more you look at it the more details pop out.
