Skywatcher motors Tip Positive question

Just about to pick up a dc regulator to power my dual drives from my power tank.

here

12V/24V DC CAR ADAPTOR 2000MA/2A 3/4.5/6/7.5/9/12 VOLT on eBay (end time 06-Apr-10 15:05:29 BST)

Is it tip positive (things usually are) when using this?.

It says "polarity reversing" in the advert - not quite sure what that means apart from the obvious +ve -ve switch around - but I'd be tempted to check it out before purchase. Cars are normally -ve return to earth. A quick question at your local Maplins usually gets good advice.

Normally means that the adaptor tip can be plugged in either way round depending if you want tip +ve or tip -ve theres noramlly a + and - symbol moulded into one half of the adaptor which you line up with a mark on the other depending on which you want...

Whe I use them I normally glue them together when they are right to stop them being reversed...or put heatshrink over the plug to stop it comign apart...

As billy has said it will do both tip + and tip - I use a similar power supply which uses the same system.

Sorry.. I think I you may miss understand. is the requirement for the controller tip +?.

Just need to know which way round to use.

Yes, the tip needs to be positive for your application.

Everything I've encountered thus far has been tip +ve, seems to be a de facto standard.
