simon84
Evening,I'm going to be making my own Losmandy style dovetail bar so that I can fully customise it for my own attatchments.Would someone be so kind, if they have a los bar handy, to just double check the 74mm dim and the 65 degree angles for fitting in the puck.I've taken a rough measurement with an old helix angle measurer I found in my sons pencil case but I've nothing more precise to hand at the moment. The 100mm measurement is an approximate and will be controlled by the angled cut and the 3/4" ali bar I intend to use.Cheers in advance. davew
The top part of the plate ( 9mm underside bit ) is not angled. I too have a Helix set !Dave
simon84
Hi Dave,I thought that but I only have access to square cutters so to get the 65 degrees I have to have the underside angled at 90 degrees. It wont be a problem as I only have an 80mm refractor or my camera being mounted on it.I take it the other dims checked out ok i.e. 65 degrees and the 74mm?Cheers,Simon. Merlin66
Simon,I've just measured my Losmandy plate:Total thickness: 12.7mmThickness of top section: 6.65mmWidth of "wedge" section at base: 74.7mmWidth of "wedge" section at narrowest: 70.0mmso each angle would be 2.35mm/ 6mm..... if that makes sense.Ken
davew
Hi Simon,Now I understand your thinking. As for the measurements, sorry, I'm not within reach of my mount to check. I'll look later unless some kind soul comes along with better info.Dave.
