Mars at Opposition!!!!

Greetings all!!!!!!!

I hope you're all making the most of the clear conditions- did you all catch the pairing of the Moon and Mars last night? Quite wonderful!!!

Here's two observations- one made on the 27-28th January 2010:

As you can see, Acidalium is well placed, some wonderful fine structure in Erythraeum and the NPC demonstrates evidence that it is subliming away!

Here's my drawing from opposition night:

Great view of the Slois Lacus region, and I strongly suspect a brilliant white cloud over Olympus Mons which is coming into view on the fol. limb. Alas, clouds came and put a stop to observations at 0237UT.

Detail is amazing Paul. I managed to see the feature in the NPC

last night with my Tak TSA-102, well chuffed about getting a view of it.
