Mars at Opposition!!!!

Greetings all!!!!!!!

I hope you're all making the most of the clear conditions- did you all catch the pairing of the Moon and Mars last night? Quite wonderful!!!

Here's two observations- one made on the 27-28th January 2010:

As you can see, Acidalium is well placed, some wonderful fine structure in Erythraeum and the NPC demonstrates evidence that it is subliming away!

Great view of the Slois Lacus region, and I strongly suspect a brilliant white cloud over Olympus Mons which is coming into view on the fol. limb. Alas, clouds came and put a stop to observations at 0237UT.
