Great images, thxs for sharing.

How small in comparison would images be taken through a 100ED?

Also could you please tell me what CM means and why do the images appear larger as this number increases?

Best wishes,

Hi PH-R,

CM stands for central meridian, it is the longitude at the centre of Mars disk. The reason the images are different sizes is the focal ratio at time of imaging. The first image was at f/20 and the next two at f/30, in effect a higher magnification.

regards

Peter

Although soft there is much detail on the disc and glow is quite attractive, looks like you got the interesting side too.

I think UKAIF may be off over Christmas by the looks of things, it seems to be a site issue?
