Ursids

According to the NASA meteor website, this shower should be peaking in my location between 5 & 6 tomorrow morning. The moon is an evening object, so will be nicely out of the way. Never had much joy with this shower, but with the peak at such a reasonable hour, think I might give it a go.

Sorry guys, that's just guaranteed another morning's cloud cover ...

I promise not to plan to observe the quadrantids ...

If it is any consolation, I saw 2 Ursids last night, one as I stepped out of the door, and another, about 1/2 an hour later, as I attempted to locate "fuzzies". However, as LM was so poor, due to LP & icy air, I gave up and went in.

I first thought you were very lucky to be getting a preview of the meteors as they dont peak til Jan 4th. Then i realised that its the Quads that peak in Jan and not the Ursids.

Silly me.
