Viewing the Quadrantid shower 2010

I'm interested in observing meteor showers, the Quadrantids sound like a good show, I know that they appear as a narrow band of about eight hours.

Is there an estimate for the time that the eight hours will span?

Also where are they best viewed, is it always Western USA? Are we better positioned in the UK than central Europe?

I cant say i have ever observed these meteors. Here is what WiKi says:

The Quads have a sharp peak which rises to a very respectable rate even from the UK. The 2010 appearance of the shower is going to be badly affected by the Moon unfortunately.
