My first attempts at imaging

FLT98 + EOS 40D, CLS clip filter, no reducer / field flattener. Guided with PHD - think the minimum motion was set too large at 0.5 so stars appear a touch bloated ?

M42 37 mins (5, 7, 10, 15 mins) + darks (4)

M45 39 mins (5, 7, 7, 10, 10 mins) + darks (4)

Stacked with DSS.

This is all totally new to me so any tips / comments would be welcomed.

Those are excellent Andy. More like a veteran than a novice.

I like the M42 colouration, and M45 images are always pleasing to my eye. Nice work.

The only advice I can offer is keep doing what you appear to be v good at!

Maybe add some flats?
