Guide scope & Camera

Just supposing I had £600 at my disposal . What Guide scope and Guide camera would you recomend. My main Imaging scope is an ED80 or I could use the C8. The guide camera can only have one USB cable.

Believe it or not Bob, £600 is a lot of money for a guide set-up

I use an equivalent of the Skywatcher ST80 and the QHY5, a popular choice and very reliable

QYH5 (£159) : Guider Cameras @ Modern Astronomy

You may also need some mounting bars depending on what your set up is

Bob, I did do the same. Another vote for the QHY5 (or v) and the ST80

Thanks folks, thats good news, more money for fancy filters.

Now I have got to find some cash I put the £600 mark on the post just in case there were some other more expensive options, but the QHY5 and ST80 will do fine.

Bob if yu have that sort of money it might be worth looking at the imaging siurce cameras. Superb lunar and planetary and I've heard good things about them as guide cams, just a thought.
