10 hours of Heart in Hα

Hi All,

Captured over 2 nights, 6th and 10th December. Each night at around 22.30, I had to stop the mount before the camera collided with the tripod, realign, turn the camera 180° and then resume the imaging sequence. Apparently, turning the camera was not so accurate and as a result many subs were missing portions of the image. I stacked in standard mode and then cropped the really bad bits out. Not too bad a result I suppose.

Scope: Skywatcher ED80

Camera: Modded Canon 350D with Astronomik Ha 12 nm filter

Guiding: Skywatcher ST80 with DFK

Mount: Skywatcher EQ6

Exposure: 10 hours in 10 minute subs

Processing: DSS, CS3.

Comments and advice welcome please.

Thanks,

Vincent.

That's really good, there's loads of structure in there. I was surprised how dim this object is when I tried it myself

As Alan says, if you can get the RGB or some more NB that will be a beaut!
